Health Equity Tracker was developed in 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, to aggregate demographic data from the hardest-hit communities in the U.S. The Tracker breaks down health outcomes by race, ethnicity, sex, socioeconomic status, and other critical demographic factors, to reveal significant disparities. This visualization aims to help policymakers at the state, federal, and local levels understand how best to support affected communities and provide important resources.
There are five underlying data sources, including the American Community Survey, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, America's Health Rankings, and the COVID Tracking Project’s Racial Data Tracker.
